Arunachal Pradesh is the north-eastern state of India. The state is also known as the Orchid State of India and the means of the state name is “The Land of Rising Sun”. The State is located at an altitude of 750 meters from the sea level and in terms of area it covers 110 square Kilometres.

It is one of the most picturesque states of India. It is somewhat similar to heaven for all those who loves adventure sports and nature lovers. The capital city of the state, Itanagar, is one of famous adventure sport itself. The city is bordered by the Himalayas and plains of Brahmaputra River in either side.

Weather and Climate in Arunachal Pradesh

The Climate of Arunachal Pradesh often varies with the elevation area sited at higher altitude in the upper Himalayas foothills close to the border of Tibet observe tundra climate, area which are on the blow to the upper Himalayas border or are at the middle Himalayas observed temperature weather and sub-tropical climate is experienced in the sea-level areas. Officially winter arrives in the months of November and continues till February. The temperature during winter season varies from 14 degree Celsius to 22 degree Celsius however the area which are at high altitude become extremely cold and March to May are considered at the season for the summer. The maximum temperature recorded on the foot hills during summer is 40 degree Celsius. Generally the temperature varies from 20 degree Celsius to 35 degree Celsius.

Geographical Location of Arunachal Pradesh

Location: 90.36' E to 97.30' E, 26.42' N to 29.30' N

The state is located in the foothills of Himalayas. In the north-Eastern Part of India and lies between the latitude of 26.42’ North to 29.30’North and the longitudes of 90.36’ East to 97.30’East. The state touches the borders of only two Indian State which are Nagaland and Assam in South east and South respectively. Rest of all are international boundaries.

Arunachal Pradesh is best to visit during the months of October-March.

By Railway: Nearest railway station is Harmuty in Assam (33 kms. from Itanagar).

By Road: From Guwahati daily bus (day & night) service is there. Its about 429 kms. Direct buses also available from Shillong (482 kms.) Tezpur and other places of Assam, Jorhat, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia and Nagaon.

By Air: The nearest Airport form the state is Lilabri, which is in Assam located at a distance of 67 Kms for the capital city of Itanagar.
